Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of StenoCore, including its public website, account features, shorthand and typing practice tools, exam-style simulations, grading, progress features, rank/leaderboard features, paid access and related support (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing access, or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use paid features.

1. About StenoCore

StenoCore is an independent practice and training platform for stenography and typing aspirants. It is not a recruiting authority, examination board, coaching regulator, government body, court, or official representative of any examination mentioned on the platform. References to examinations, courts, recruiting bodies, qualification standards or marking patterns are provided for practice and informational purposes. You should always verify the latest official notification, syllabus, instructions and marking rules issued by the relevant authority.

2. Eligibility and account registration

You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and keep your account details reasonably current. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for activity carried out through your account. If you are a minor or otherwise not legally able to enter into these Terms independently, you should use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or lawful guardian where required by applicable law.

• Do not impersonate another person or create an account using information you are not authorised to use.
• Do not share, sell, rent or transfer your login credentials or paid access to another person.
• Notify us at coresteno@gmail.com if you reasonably suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• We may ask for reasonable information to verify account ownership before making security-sensitive account changes.

3. Free access and fixed-duration Pro plans

StenoCore may provide a free trial or limited free access before purchase. Paid Pro access is sold for a fixed period selected at purchase: currently 1 month for ₹299, 2 months for ₹499, or 3 months for ₹699. These are not automatically renewing subscriptions. StenoCore does not automatically debit or renew a paid plan when it expires.

A new paid period begins when the purchase is verified and the entitlement is activated. If a current fixed-duration Pro plan is still active when an extension is granted, the newly purchased duration is added from the existing expiry date. Otherwise the new period begins from activation. Access to paid features ends automatically after the server-recorded expiry unless another plan is purchased and activated. Any older legacy entitlement granted under an earlier StenoCore offering may continue according to the terms applicable to that entitlement unless it is expressly migrated, revoked or replaced.

4. Pricing, payment and activation

The current standard plan prices are ₹299 for 1 month, ₹499 for 2 months and ₹699 for 3 months. Prices displayed at the time of purchase apply to that purchase unless an obvious pricing error is identified before fulfilment. StenoCore may change future pricing, free-access limits, promotions or offers. A later price change does not shorten an already activated paid period.

Paid access is currently handled through manual UPI payment and manual/admin verification. You must choose the intended plan and pay the exact amount shown for that plan. You are responsible for checking the displayed payee, amount and payment details before sending money. After a valid payment is verified, the corresponding fixed-duration plan is activated or extended on the relevant StenoCore account. Do not send passwords, OTPs, UPI PINs or other banking credentials to StenoCore.

Refund eligibility is governed by the separate Refund Policy, including the 3-calendar-day satisfaction refund request window described there. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. Acceptable use

You may use StenoCore for genuine personal learning, practice and other uses expressly permitted by us. You must not:

• use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or deceptive activity;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, databases, administrator functions, Firebase resources, hosting infrastructure or other systems;
• introduce malware, harmful code, denial-of-service traffic or other technical interference;
• use bots, scrapers, crawlers, automated extraction tools or bulk-download techniques to copy passages, datasets, rankings, interfaces or other non-publicly licensed material without written permission;
• reverse engineer, decompile, bypass access controls, defeat usage limits, inspect private endpoints for replication, or reproduce substantial parts of StenoCore for the purpose of cloning or commercially substituting the Service, except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• copy, republish, redistribute, sell or commercially exploit StenoCore’s original software, interface, original compilations or protected content without permission;
• share paid account access, resell access, or use payment or promotion mechanisms dishonestly;
• submit content that you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful, malicious or infringes another person’s rights.

6. Practice content, user-provided material and intellectual property

StenoCore retains rights in its software, original interface, branding, original compilations, original instructional material and other protectable elements. Third-party, official, public-domain or publicly available materials remain subject to their own legal status and rights; these Terms do not claim ownership over public judgments, official notifications or third-party works merely because they are referenced or used for lawful practice.

If you upload, paste or otherwise provide custom matter, audio or text, you remain responsible for having the right to use it. You grant StenoCore a limited permission to process and store that material only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested feature, maintain security, troubleshoot the Service and comply with law.

7. Exam-practice disclaimer and no result guarantee

StenoCore is a practice tool, not a guarantee of examination qualification, selection, employment, rank, marks or performance. Scores, readiness indicators, error analysis, coaching suggestions and simulated marking are estimates or practice outputs based on available rules and your recorded activity. Actual recruiting authorities control the real examination, evaluation and result. A difference between StenoCore and an official examination result does not by itself establish a defect or entitlement to compensation.

8. Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Access may be affected by maintenance, security incidents, internet connectivity, browser/device behaviour, Firebase, Netlify, payment systems, third-party outages, legal requirements or events outside reasonable control. We may modify, repair, replace or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for security, product improvement, technical compatibility, legal compliance or sustainability.

9. Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe an account is being used for fraud, credential sharing, unauthorised redistribution, scraping, attacks, circumvention of access controls, infringement, unlawful conduct or material breach of these Terms. Where reasonably practicable, we may seek clarification before permanent action, but immediate restriction may be used where needed to protect users, data or systems. Refund consequences, if any, remain subject to the Refund Policy and applicable law.

10. Privacy and data

Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. Browser storage and cookie-related practices are described in the Cookie Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that technical processing necessary for authentication, security, account operation and requested features will occur as described in those policies.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StenoCore will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, loss of examination chance, loss caused by reliance on unofficial practice information, or loss arising from third-party service outages, except where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

12. Indemnity for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, infringement of third-party rights, malicious activity, unauthorised redistribution or material breach of these Terms. This clause does not make you responsible for loss caused by StenoCore’s own unlawful conduct.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, security, technical or product changes. The current version and “Last updated” date will be posted on this page. If a change materially affects paid access or user obligations, we will use a reasonable method of notice where practicable. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer forum, statutory remedy or jurisdiction that cannot be excluded, disputes relating to StenoCore will be subject to the competent courts at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. Before commencing formal proceedings, users are encouraged to contact us so a genuine billing, access or technical dispute can first be reviewed.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information StenoCore may collect, why it is used, where it may be processed or stored, and the choices available to users. It applies to StenoCore’s website, account system, practice tools, progress features, support interactions and paid-access administration.

1. Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, mobile number, username/public leaderboard name and authentication-related account identifiers.
• Support information: information you send when asking for help, reporting a bug, requesting a refund or contacting us by email or an advertised support channel.
• Payment-verification information: where manual UPI activation is used, you may provide transaction reference details, payment screenshots or related information necessary to verify a purchase. We do not ask for or need your UPI PIN, OTP, card PIN or banking password.
• User-provided practice material: custom text, audio or other material you deliberately upload, paste or submit to use a feature.

2. Practice and usage information

When you use StenoCore, the Service may process information such as selected exam/mode, passage identifiers, test duration, typing speed, accuracy, marks, error categories, backspace/keystroke-related practice metrics, shorthand or typing results, readiness evidence, progress history, replay/timeline information, repair recommendations, ranking information and similar learning data generated by your activity.

Some coaching, telemetry, replay or progress information is intentionally stored only in your browser/device in the current version. Such device-local information may not automatically follow you to another browser or device and may be lost if browser storage is cleared.

3. Technical and browser information

StenoCore and its service providers may receive ordinary technical information needed to deliver a website or authentication service, such as IP address, browser type, device/operating-system information, timestamps, request logs and security events. Hosting or authentication providers may process this information under their own terms and privacy practices. StenoCore does not currently describe IP/device fingerprinting as a user-enforcement feature unless such a feature is expressly introduced and disclosed.

4. How we use information

• to create and secure accounts, authenticate users and provide requested features;
• to save scores, progress, entitlements and account settings;
• to generate grading, error analysis, readiness indicators, practice recommendations, replay information and rankings;
• to verify purchases, activate paid access, process eligible refund requests and prevent payment/account abuse;
• to respond to support, security, legal and account-recovery requests;
• to diagnose errors, maintain reliability, improve features and understand aggregate product usage;
• to comply with applicable law, enforce our Terms and protect users, StenoCore and third parties.

5. Public information and leaderboards

Your private account name, mobile number and email are not intended to be displayed on public leaderboards. Your chosen username is used as your public leaderboard/display name. If you choose a username that contains identifying information, that information may become visible to other visitors or users through the leaderboard.

6. Service providers and third parties

StenoCore relies on third-party infrastructure to operate. Depending on the feature you use, information may be processed by providers such as:

• Google Firebase for authentication, database functions, storage and related backend services;
• Netlify for website hosting, delivery and related operational logs;
• Google sign-in services if you choose to authenticate with Google;
• UPI/banking providers involved in a payment initiated by you; StenoCore does not control their independent processing;
• email, messaging or support services you choose to use when communicating with us.

These providers may process data in India or other countries/regions where they operate infrastructure, subject to their contracts, policies and applicable law.

7. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

StenoCore may use browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or authentication-related cookies/tokens to keep you signed in, remember settings, store device-local practice evidence and support security or functionality. Details are provided in the Cookie Policy. StenoCore does not currently use third-party advertising cookies to sell targeted advertising space.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the Service, including authenticated access controls and provider security features. However, no internet transmission, browser storage, cloud database or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use a strong unique password, protect access to your email/device and notify us if you suspect account compromise.

9. Retention

Account and service records may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for account administration, payment/refund records, security, dispute resolution, backups, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Device-local data remains on your browser/device until the application or you remove it, the browser clears it, or storage is reset. Retention periods may differ by data category and provider.

10. Access, correction and deletion requests

You may contact coresteno@gmail.com to request reasonable access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. Some information may need to be retained where required for legal obligations, fraud/security records, accounting/payment evidence, dispute handling, backups or other lawful purposes. Deleting an account or certain data can make progress history, entitlements or other features unavailable.

11. Communications

We may send service-related communications that are necessary for account security, payment/access issues, policy changes or support. If StenoCore later sends optional promotional communications, users will be given a reasonable way to opt out of those marketing messages while still receiving essential service notices.

12. Minors

StenoCore is intended for examination and skill-practice users and is not designed to solicit unnecessary personal information from children. Users who are minors should use the Service with parent/guardian involvement where required by applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a minor’s information was provided without required authority may contact us for review.

13. Legal requests and protection

We may preserve or disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, enforce our Terms, investigate fraud or security incidents, or protect the rights and safety of users, StenoCore or others. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, law or technology changes. The latest version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by a reasonable method where practicable.

Legal

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to direct purchases of StenoCore fixed-duration Pro plans under the current manual-UPI payment and admin-verification model. It should be read with the Terms & Conditions. Nothing in this policy limits a refund or remedy that applicable law requires us to provide.

1. Three-day satisfaction refund window

If you purchase StenoCore and then decide that the Service is not suitable for you, you may apply for a refund within 3 calendar days of the successful payment date. The request must be sent within that period; it does not matter if our review is completed after the third day.

2. How to request a refund

Email coresteno@gmail.com with the subject “StenoCore Refund Request”. Include:

• the email address registered to your StenoCore account;
• payment date and amount;
• UPI transaction/reference number and, if available, payment screenshot;
• a brief statement that you are requesting a refund under the 3-day refund window, or an explanation of any duplicate/payment/technical issue.

Do not send your UPI PIN, OTP, bank password or card PIN. We may request reasonable additional information only to verify that the request relates to the correct account and payment.

3. Eligible cases

Subject to verification and applicable law, refund requests may include:

• a satisfaction-based request submitted within the 3-calendar-day window;
• a duplicate payment for the same account/access;
• an accidental excess payment;
• a verified payment where paid access was not delivered or could not be activated due to a StenoCore-side problem and the issue is not resolved within a reasonable time;
• another situation where a refund or remedy is required by applicable law.

4. Requests after three calendar days

A change-of-mind or “service not suitable” request submitted after 3 calendar days is normally outside the voluntary satisfaction refund window. We may still review genuine duplicate payments, payment errors, unresolved non-delivery, fraud affecting the payer, or other circumstances where law or fairness requires a different outcome.

5. Abuse, account violations and refunds

The refund window is intended for genuine purchasers, not to enable copying, scraping, credential sharing, resale, deliberate abuse, fraudulent payment disputes or circumvention of access controls. A serious Terms violation may affect a voluntary refund request, but this does not remove any statutory right that cannot legally be excluded.

6. Refund method and timing

Where reasonably possible, an approved refund will be returned to the original payment source or another verified destination associated with the payer. We aim to initiate approved refunds within a reasonable period after verification; actual credit time can depend on banks, UPI providers and payment-system processing. If a payment was made to the wrong recipient or outside the payment instructions shown by StenoCore, we may be unable to recover funds we never received.

7. Effect of refund

Once a full refund is approved and processed, paid access associated with that purchase may be revoked. Any free-access rights that remain generally available to users may continue subject to the current product rules and Terms.

Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how StenoCore uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies. “Cookies” is used here as a convenient label, but some StenoCore functions rely instead on localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, authentication tokens or similar browser mechanisms.

1. Technologies we may use

• Authentication storage: Firebase/Google authentication may use browser storage, tokens, cookies or IndexedDB to keep a signed-in session working securely.
• Local storage: StenoCore may use localStorage or similar device-local storage for preferences, practice history, replay evidence, coaching/skill signals, UI state and other features designed to remain on the current browser/device.
• Session storage: temporary information may be used to maintain a page/session state and may disappear when the browser session ends.
• Hosting/security logs: Netlify, Firebase and related providers may use their own cookies, logs or identifiers necessary to deliver, secure and diagnose their services.

2. Why these technologies are used

They may be used to authenticate users, remember settings, preserve device-local progress, operate security controls, restore application state, provide requested functionality, diagnose errors and measure technical/service performance. StenoCore does not currently use third-party advertising cookies for behavioural advertising.

3. Analytics and telemetry

StenoCore contains product telemetry/practice-intelligence features used to understand attempts and generate user-facing learning signals. Depending on the feature, some of this information is stored locally on the device and some account/result information may be stored in Firebase. If StenoCore later introduces a materially different third-party analytics or advertising technology, this Policy will be updated and additional consent controls will be added where required by applicable law.

4. Your controls

Most browsers allow you to inspect, block or delete cookies and site storage. You can also clear StenoCore’s stored site data through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting essential authentication/storage technologies can sign you out, remove device-local practice evidence, reset preferences, break Google sign-in or prevent parts of the Service from working correctly.

5. Third-party services

Firebase, Google and Netlify may use their own cookies or similar technologies when providing authentication, hosting, security or infrastructure. Their use is governed by their own policies as well as applicable law. StenoCore does not control cookies placed directly by a third-party site you choose to visit through an external link.
